It's my birthday and I can ride if I want to!
Plans were hatched last night to ride the Emigrant Trail near Truckee as we celebrate my attempts to go down with grace and dignity (remember to go for style points with every fall). We’ll post more details later but assume this is an all day adventure.
Let me know if you’re planning on joining us.
Amici Veloci began when a group of Calif women participating in a women's cycling forum formed a team for a charity ride. Our team grew to include our ride buddies, male and female, roadies and dirt riders, across the USA. Though some of us have never met we've become good friends and ride together whenever we can. This blog is to keep all our members up to date on our happenings as well as sightings of our tattoo and jersey. Read below for our shared adventures and maybe a recipe or two.

Mountain bike adventure, hence the reference to "style points with every fall". I was the champ at Fleming Meadows...someone else needs to take the torch!
Hopefully I'll be able to make it...in my usual noncommmittal fashion (these days, anyhow),I'll have to wait to confirm!
P Zip, Emigrant Trail is a nice intermediate trail. Though it is at somewhat high altitude it rolls through the forest. The climbing cumulatively adds up but no big climbs and no "death on the left or right." Should be a great time of year to visit, after it gets little rain (I hope) and before the snows come.
Happy Birthday! A nice bike ride is a great way to celebrate. That's what I did last Friday.
